David Shankbone to go to Israel for Wikimedia

Commons photographer, Wikipedia editor and Wikinews reporter David Shankbone has been invited by the Israeli government to tour the holy land. He will be accompanying other journalists on a review of the technology industry (aerospace, defense, Internet, medical and industrial); review Arab-Jewish partnerships in the region; meet with business leaders to discuss some of their current projects; and take guided tours of many of Israel's holiest sites. The trip is completely financed by the Israeli government. Keep an eye out for new GFDL photographs of the Temple Mount, the Sea of Galilee, Tel Aviv and some of the companies and people he meets. Shankbone has requested interviews with the Prime Minster and the Defense Minister, but no confirmation has been received yet.

"has been invited by the Israeli government to tour the holy land"

I don't know everything about NPOV, but the use of "holy land" there strikes me as *very* POV.

'has been invited by the Israeli government to tour the country' would be fine imo.

Yes, you are correct, you do not understand NPOV. Blog posts are not NPOV; aside from that, Israel is commonly called the holy land.
