Singer Meat Loaf falls ill during concert

>>Full Story

American rock singer Meat Loaf has taken ill during a concert in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He told the audience that it was "the last concert of his life," and left the stage.

The incident came 70 minutes into the show on Halloween night. During the opening of "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" he suggested that the crowd of thousands should enjoy the performance as it was the last of his career. He attempted to sing the first line of the song, but instead said "Newcastle, I love you, but can't continue. I take off my coat to you." He thanked the audience for 30 years, and left the stage.

The venue, Metro Radio Arena, have announced that the singer had a sore throat. However, they also say that fans are unlikely to be refunded the price of their tickets (£37.50-£45) because he had performed for over an hour.

A load of rubbish he came on stage at 20:45 and left at 21:25, fans should unite and hound the promoters for a full refund, he was that bad nobody could hear him for either the music or his backing singers. Lets see if the poor fans in Birmingham are treated the same as us.

We watched the recording of his London Ontario Concert on TV tonight - what was the yellow slime/goo seen in his mouth and on his tongue in several camera shots?!!? Yuck! His group is very talented, but was shocked the camera caught something so gross.

cut him some slack! hes 60 years old and has a throat condition. atleast you got to see him in the flesh. i would give anything to see him live even if it was for one song, you have no right to call yourself fans if you were demanding your money back. shame on you all!!!!!
